ISOKRSNA Inc is the authorised not-for-profit to raise funds on behalf of The Akshaya Patra Foundation, India. One can donate to Akshaya Patra through ISOKRSNA managed “Mates of Akshaya Patra” program.

 

What is my donation used for?

Your money ultimately is for the children. Every donation is diligently spent for the food that is served directly or indirectly.  On an average, 84% of the total cost is used towards meeting the programme cost and 10% towards the programme management cost. 6% of the total cost is steered towards meeting fundraising and communication costs. The organisation upholds maximum transparency in funds utilisation.

 

How much does it cost to feed a child for a school year?

Your contribution of $19 can feed a child for one school year. A comparison in our daily life is

What is the mission and vision of The Akshaya Patra Foundation?

Vision – No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger.

How many kitchens does Akshaya Patra run?

The Akshaya Patra Foundation operates in 27 locations across 11 States in India. Centralised kitchens are large kitchen units that have the capacity to typically cook up to 100,000 meals. These kitchens serve a set of schools located around the unit. They are automated and thus ensure hygiene during the cooking processes.

 

Does Mates of Akshaya Patra do any charity work benefiting Australians?

No, Mates of Akshaya Patra is an overseas aid fundraiser and does not directly benefit Australians. However, ISOKRSNA Inc, the parent organisation does have separate community based programs directly benefiting Australians.

How do I get the receipt?

The Akshaya Patra Foundation has authorised ISOKRSNA to issue receipts on their behalf for donations collected in Australia. The Akshaya Patra Foundation provides a receipt to ISOKRSNA for its monthly transfer. This is also published on the website of Akshaya Patra every quarter. The donations received by ISOKRSNA is published each month on isokrsna.com with donation amount, receipt no., initials and postcode for each donation received in that particular month. Receipts will be sent to designated email address within 24 hours of receiving the donation money our bank account. The details of the individual donors will be shared with The Akshaya Patra Foundation.

 

Can I claim tax benefits in Australia?

No, at the moment ISOKRSNA or Mates of Akshaya Patra is not authorised to provide tax benefits. ISOKRSNA will be looking to get DGR status in next few months. Will keep you all posted.
